David Nolte was out on the hustings over the weekend door knocking
South Yarra and distributing his leaflet promoting his "Our Melbourne"
team.
A quick scan of the artwork shows a glaring mistake. Missing is the name of Nolte's Deputy Lord Mayor Candidate, Connie Paglianiti. Nolte's team has a strong Carlton flavour to it and little else. Paglianiti whose name has been left off the profile page
does not have the best of reputations around Carlton let alone
Melbourne. Connie is well known for destroying the Carlton Festa and
her attempts to have the plain trees in Lygon Street removed. Her term
as Carlton Traders Association President was a complete disaster.
Whilst Nolte has well known Carlton trader, Mark Rubbo OAM, of Lygon Streets Readings fame, is listed as number three
on Nolte's ticket the fact is Rubbo will not survive the count and will
be eliminated pretty early (Unless he is able to secure a large below
the line vote). Nolte's Council ticket will at best elect one candidate ALP Carlton Branch President Richard Forster.
