Breaking the sound barrier

At last weeks "Meet the candidates" meeting in Kensington residents expressed concern at the increasing level of noise pollution and risk to residents health arsing from Melbourne train network.  When asked what the candidates will do no to address this issue.  The Greens' Lord Mayor Candidate's solution was to hold an environmental impact study.

My response: We know what the impacts are, we know that high level noise and electromagnetic radiation is detrimental to human health. We do not need another Environmental Impact study.  We need action. Good design, noise barriers and proper development planning. If that is not possible then the Government should.negotiate to buy out those home owners most adversely effected.  The solution is simple action not words. We build sound barriers on roads, why not on the train network?

If words count vote Greens, if action is what you want don't vote Green
